Thank you to all 87 of you who came out to see Maureen Johnson, Libba Bray, Cassie Clare, and Robin Wasserman last night. We had a blast and it was so great to see so many people excited about YA books in one room! Some great pics can be found over at WestportNow and I've posted some of my own below. OMG! I can't believe that it's November already!! You know that we are merely DAYS away from our NERDFIGHTER event at Bedford Middle School? That's right, this Wednesday night, brothers John and Hank Green will be in Westport.

The Full Burn

This Tuesday, September 9th, Kevin Conley will be speaking here at the Library. Conley is a journalist and author of the new book The Full Burn: On the Set, at the Bar, Behind the Wheel and Over the Edge With Hollywood Stuntmen.

The Brooklyn Book Festival

The 2008 Brooklyn Book Festival is taking place on Sunday, Sept 14th at the Brooklyn Borough Hall & Plaza. I didn't go last year because I didn't know that the Festival also welcomed YA authors. This year has a great lineup!

Kurt Vonnegut

vonnegut.jpgKurt Vonnegut died today at the age of 84. I feel strange about this because just two days ago, I was recommending books to a patron who said that she had never read any Vonnegut. I handed her Breakfast of Champions (my personal favorite) and was so excited that she would have the pleasure of reading his work for the first time.

I need people to discuss it with, since the book is about a mystery that is never solved. And guess what? Greg Galloway is coming to the Westport Library on Monday, March 26th!!!
