DRAWINGS FOR DANTE'S INFERNO
Rico Lebrun (Italian-born American, 1900-1964) with essays by
John Ciardi and Leonard Baskin, who also designed the book.
One of Lebrun's last projects before his death, designs for a mural
based on Dante's Inferno. Ciardi writes about the artist and his work; Baskin's essay is on the drawings.
Each drawing is on a full page with the corresponding Canto from the Inferno on the facing page in a
translation by Ciardi. Laid in are four original lithographs by Lebrun, each signed in the plate. From the

The Classicist, published by the Institute of Classical Architecture & Classical America, it is the only North American journal exclusively dedicated to the theory and practice of contemporary classicism in architecture, urbanism, and the allied arts.
Launched in 1994, the volunteer editorial committee has produced seven issues; the first three of which are out of print. All seven issues are at the book sale and are individually priced. |
