At the Library: from the buildings at Yale to the desert in Kenya.

Have you seen the video My Architect ? It's Nathaniel Kahn's tribute to his father Louis Kahn and it grabs your attention without any let-up. On Tuesday April 24 at 7:30 pm. local architect, writer and Yale lecturer Carter Wiseman will be at the Library to talk about his book Louis I. Kahn: Beyond Time and Style: A Life in Architecture. Come and find out more about Kahn. Books will be available for purchase and signing.

On Wednesday April 25 at noon, journalist Masha Hamilton will speak about her novel The Camel Bookmobile. A young American woman leaves New York city to run a mobile library in Kenya. Books are delivered by camel. Western values and a young woman's ideals arrive along with the books and the local strict rules of the bookmobile. Is literacy a necessity? Is cultural intrusion helpful? Would you like to donate books to the real Camel Bookmobile. Book signing will follow Ms. Hamilton's talk.
