Dr. Gerry Kuroghlian, retired Staples High School English teacher, presented on the historical Amelia Earhart, the person behind the celebrity, as part of WestportREADS 2012. This year I Was Amelia Earhart by Jane Mendelsohn was the book selected for the community to read. Throughout the month of January there were many events that focused on the themes of Amelia Earhart's life.
