Opportunities for Giving
The Westport Public Library - the eighth busiest library in New England - is supported by the Town of Westport, which provides just over 80% of the annual library budget. Additional support – and the ability to provide excellent service and exceptional programming - comes from the generosity of donors. Help support your library today.

Your online transactions are safe and secure. The Library does not share donor information.

MEMORIAL AND TRIBUTE GIFTS
Honor someone with a gift to the library. Tribute gifts may be made for birthdays, anniversaries and other special occasions. Gifts in memory of loved ones are also fitting tributes. Books or other materials may be designated, and the library will provide acknowledgement to the honoree or family of the person memorialized.
GIFTS OF SECURITIES
The Westport Public Library accepts the transfer of appreciated securities directly from you or from your broker. With tax advantages for the donor, many individuals have provided gifts to the Library through a gift of appreciated securities.
BOOK BUCKS
A contribution to Book Bucks is a way to support the Friends of the Westport Library while at the same time supporting needy families in the community. Book Bucks are distributed to those families by the Human Services Department of the Town of Westport, enabling the recipients to buy books at Friends book sales. It’s a win-win situation for the families - who get to buy books they might otherwise not afford - and for the Friends, who receive more income for library programs.

The Westport Library Association is a registered 501(c)(3) cultural institution. Gifts are fully deductible under federal tax regulations. The Westport Public Library is eligible for corporate matching grants.

Form 990 is the form the IRS requires nonprofit organizations to file each year, similar to the annual reports publicly held companies file with the Securities and Exchange Commission.  The form provides basic financial data, a complete grants list, the names of the foundation’s trustees and officers, and other information.

The IRS Form 990 for the Westport Library Association, the IRS determination letter and annual financial statements are available for inspection during weekday office hours.  Copies may be mailed to you as well.  There will be a fee of 10 cents per page for copying.  Call the Library’s administrative office at 203-291-4800 or email syoung@westportlibrary.org
