Enjoy summer Thursdays with a cool drink, a short introduction and a film. In The Day of the Jackal, an assassin of uncommon intelligence, nerve and charm is followed as he attempts to target President Charles De Gaulle in the Paris of 1962. Roger Ebert calls it “one hell of an exciting movie, put together like a fine watch.” Directed by Fred Zinneman, High Noon, it’s a thriller that will keep you on the edge of your seat and stars Edward Fox. This 1973 version is not to be confused with the far more violent 1997 remake. 1973. 143 minutes.
