Music: Frannie Southworth with “Heart & Soul”

Tony Cruz, Sharon Bryant, Fran Southworth, Jeff Southworth, Chris Coogan ,Frannie Southworth with “Heart & Soul” are a group of professional singers and musicians with extraordinary musical backgrounds who have performed together for many years. Their music spans from the 1920’s to current songs and offers something for everyone. The performers include, from left to right, Tony Cruz, Sharon Bryant, Fran Southworth, Jeff Southworth, and Chris Coogan.

Frannie, a 23 year Westport resident, has been truth seeking, singing and writing songs her whole life. She has worked singing on television and radio commercials including singing backkgrounds for Whitney Houston's At&T campaign, and as an actress and singer on “As The World Turns” soap opera for two years in the 80s. She wrote over 40 songs for television shows and co-wrote a song for Patti Austin. 

Jeff Southworth's life-long career in music has encompassed performing, composing, arranging, producing, singing and songwriting. Jeff played guitar with Hall & Oates(including the solo on "Kiss on My List"), Laura Branigan, Graham Nash & Dan Hartman. His Clio Award winning television and radio work includes writing, arranging, and producing for Whitney Houston, Aretha Franklin, Wynonna Judd, Ray Charles, Aaron Neville and Leann Rimes. Currently he’s been writing and producing original music for the hit PBS children’s show "Dragontales."  His latest project was arranging and co-producing Frannie Faith’s CDs.

Sharon Bryant was the lead singer in the recording group Atlantic Starr with multiple #1 hit songs. She moved on to a solo career and had a #1 hit with the song & video “Let Go” and a #3 hit with the ‘Journey song’ “Foolish Heart” She also sang with Sting at his Rainforest Concerts at Carnegie Hall, along with James Taylor, Gladys Knight, Tom Jones, and many others. 

Chris Coogan, the pianist for the evening, is a jazz and gospel musician whose credits include music director for the jazz guitarist, Sal Salvador. 

Tony Cruz, “Heart & Soul’s” percussionist, has performed with many great musicians over the years. His versatility has led to a wide range of genres including performances with Bruce Springsteen, the Boston Pops Orchestra, and shows on Broadway to name a few. 

We will have a special guest Sharon's 13 year old daughter Journi Gallwey who performed at The Levitt Pavilion last year.
