Born and raised in Los Angeles, photographer Phyllis Groner has lived in Westport since 1969. The town has long served her as a rich source of subject matter, and, from August 1-31, she will show her photographs of Westport in Westport Library’s Great Hall in an exhibit entitled “The Beauty That Is Westport.” A reception for the photographer will be held on Friday, August 3, from 6:00-7:00 pm (those attending are asked to use the Library’s Upper Level entrance).
In the past several years, Groner has been a contributing photographer for WestportNow.com and has had more than 600 photos published. She works with her husband, Stan, to process every photograph she takes. Since coming to Westport, she has served on many boards, including those of the League of Women Voters and the PTA, and she now serves on the board of the Y’s Women and on the Library’s Spoken Word Committee. She is also a regular volunteer at the Westport Senior Center.
This event is free and open to the public. For more information, call 291-4810 or check the Library’s website www.westportlibrary.org. |
