Enjoy the magic of the 1939 film classic with friends and family on the Library’s large screen. Hollywood magic has rarely worked as well as it did in MGM's adaptation of L. Frank Baum's classic The Wonderful Wizard of Oz. This fairy tale about a Kansas farm girl who is swept by a tornado into the land of the Munchkins has burned itself into the collective consciousness of generations of moviegoers.

The Wonderful Wizard of Oz
By L. Frank Baum

Join the celebration of the Westport Library 100th Birthday and read "Harry Potter"...the 1908 version. The Wonderful Wizard of Oz was wildly popular then and has endured over 100 years. It's a children's classic, a movie perennial, a Broadway show, and a study in politics & economics. And it promises a lot of fun!

Borrow or buy a copy of the 1900 original edition at the Library and stay tuned for the schedule of events & discussions.
