What are Digital Audiobooks?
  • Digital Audiobooks are digital versions of printed books that can be downloaded to any computer and/or portable audio player that supports Windows Media Player (version 9 or higher).
How do I renew a digital audiobook?
  • Login to your NetLibrary account.
  • Click on "My Checked Out Items" list.
  • Click the "Download this Audiobook" link. This will not re-download the title.
  • Look for the small text that reads, "Renew your check out for 21 Days" and click on it.

How many times may I download a title?

  • Once you have checked out a title and acquired its license, the maximum number of times you can download that title is three. Please note that once you've reached the maximum, you won't be able to check out that item again until the checkout period is complete (21 days).
How many times can they be renewed?
  • Digital Audiobooks may be renewed once for 21 additional days.
  • When the renewal period expires, you will have to download the audiobook again to continue listening to it.
  • Do not renew the item until close-to or after the expiration date. When you renew the item, you will have another 21 days. However, any days you have remaining on the old license will be lost.

How many may I have checked out?

  • You may have up to 10 audiobooks checked out at one time.
Can I check in or return an audiobook?
  • Digital audiobooks cannot be checked in or returned.
  • If you already have ten checked-out items, you must wait until one of your items expires before you can check out another title.
How many times can I transfer the audiobook to my portable media player?
  • Each downloaded audiobook file permits 2 transfers to portable media players.

How do I transfer an audiobook to a portable device using Windows Media Player version 10?

  • Plug in your portable device to the computer in the USB port.
  • Open Windows Media Player.
  • Click the Library tab.
  • On right hand side, click down arrow to get to your sync list.
  • Search for the file name and drag it into your sync list.
  • Click on Sync tab.
  • Click Start Sync. Files will sync to the portable device
How do I transfer an audiobook to a portable device using Windows Media Player version 11.0
  • Plug in your portable device to the computer in the USB port.
  • Open Windows Media Player.
  • Move your mouse over the Library tab.
  • Click the downward pointing arrow on the Library tab.
  • Select "Add to Library" from the drop-down menu.
  • Click OK to add the newly downloaded file to your music library.
  • Click the Sync tab.
  • On the left hand side, click Library
  • In the center of the screen, double-click the Album icon.
  • Double-click the Unknown Album icon
  • Search for the title you downloaded and drag it to the sync list on the right side of the screen.
  • Click Start Sync. Files will sync to the portable device.

Why can't I burn the audiobook to a CD?

  • For copyright purposes, audiobook files are encrypted to prevent them from being burned to a CD.

Can I get NetLibrary to work with my iPod?

  • Nearly 500 NetLibrary titles are now available for iPod users.
