Rick Riordan is the multi-award-winning author of the Tres Navarre mystery series for adults and the #1 New York Times bestselling Percy Jackson and the Olympians series for children. His Percy Jackson series features a twelve-year-old dyslexic boy who discovers he is the modern-day son of a Greek god. The Lightning Thief was a New York Times Notable Book for 2005 and has been optioned for feature film to Twentieth Century Fox. A nominee for this year’s Nutmeg Award, The Lightning Thief was Rick Riordan’s first book for young readers.

Named both an ALA Notable Book and a Best Book for Young Adults when it was published, the story of The Lightning Thief is continued in The Sea of Monsters and The Titan’s Curse.  The Sea of Monsters was a Child Magazine Best Book for Children for 2006 and a Publishers Weekly and BookSense national bestseller. The most recent title is The Titan's Curse, a #1 New York Times children's series bestseller.

Drawing on his 15 years of teaching English and history in schools in San Francisco and San Antonio, Riordan’s fast-paced plots and abundant humor are helping many young readers see the Greek myths in a new light.
