A Curse Dark As Gold

A Curse Dark as Gold by Elizabeth Bunce.jpgAre you familiar with the fairy tale Rumpelstiltskin? Elizabeth Bunce has written a fantastic book in which she reimagines the fairy tale, setting it in a woolen mill during the industrial revolution. Charlotte Miller inherits the mill after her father dies, but inherits the mill's supposed curse as well. Unable to pay off debts, she meets a strange man named Jack Spinner who will spin straw into gold... for a price. I just finished reading this and I highly recommend it, especially since Rumpelstiltskin was my favorite fairy tale growing up.
